چکیده

Direct observation of the growth dynamics 2D transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) is key importance for understanding and controlling modes tailoring these intriguing materials to desired orientations layer thicknesses. Here, various stages multiple in formation WS2 layers on different substrates through thermolysis a single solid-state (NH4)2WS4 precursor are revealed using situ transmission electron microscopy. Control over vertical horizontal achieved by varying thickness drop-casted from which grown during heating. First depositing platinum (Pt) gold (Au) heating chips much enhance process resulting an increased length self-limited layers. Interference patterns formed mutual rotation two angles deposited chips. This shows detailed insights into as function temperature, thereby establishing control orientation size. These findings also unveil important role evolution structures, offering general effective pathways nano-engineering TMDs variety applications.

Fractal growth of platinum electrodeposits revealed by in situ electron microscopy.

Fractals are commonly observed in nature and elucidating the mechanisms of fractal-related growth is a compelling issue for both fundamental science and technology. Here we report an in situ electron microscopy study of dynamic fractal growth of platinum during electrodeposition in a miniaturized electrochemical cell at varying growth conditions. Highly dendritic growth - either dense branching...

In-Situ Growth of MnAs nanocrystals in Si studied by Transmission Electron Microscopy

In-Situ Annealing Ferromagnetic nanocrystals inside a semi-conducting matrix [1] are aimed to the development of new devices in the field of spintronics e.g. data information storage and high sensitive magnetic sensors [2]. It was already shown that high dose ion implantations [Ge, Sm, Co, Mn, As] into SiC or Si followed by rapid thermal annealing lead to the formation of embedded nanocrystals ...

Effects of Displacing Radiation on Graphite Observed Using in Situ Transmission Electron Microscopy Original Citation Effects of Displacing Radiation on Graphite Observed Using in Situ Transmission Electron Microscopy

Graphite is used as a moderator and structural component in the United Kingdom’s fleet of Advanced Gas-Cooled Reactors (AGRs) and features in two Generation IV reactor concepts: the Very High Temperature Reactor (VHTR) and the Molten Salt Reactor (MSR). Under the temperature and neutron irradiation conditions of an AGR, nuclear-grade graphite demonstrates significant changes to it mechanical, t...

Bone-titanium oxide interface in humans revealed by transmission electron microscopy and electron tomography.

Osseointegration, the direct contact between an implant surface and bone tissue, plays a critical role in interfacial stability and implant success. Analysis of interfacial zones at the micro- and nano-levels is essential to determine the extent of osseointegration. In this paper, a series of state-of-the-art microscopy techniques are used on laser-modified implants retrieved from humans. Parti...
